Course Overview and Prerequisites

Welcome to Level 3 of Excel Intermediate Analysis: The Power User. This is the capstone course in our three-level programme, designed to transform proficient Excel users into true power users capable of building sophisticated analytical solutions, automating workflows, and creating enterprise-grade reporting systems.

At this advanced level, you will master techniques that are highly sought after in senior analyst, financial modelling, business intelligence, and data management roles. The skills covered in this course represent the cutting edge of Excel capability and position you to leverage Excel as a comprehensive business intelligence platform.

Prerequisites

Before commencing this course, you must be proficient in:

  • All Level 1 competencies (formulas, functions, tables, conditional formatting, PivotTables, charts)
  • All Level 2 competencies (VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH/XLOOKUP, nested logic, date/financial functions, Power Query, scenarios, dashboards)
  • Understanding of database concepts and relational data structures
  • Familiarity with basic programming concepts (helpful but not required for VBA module)

NQF Alignment

This advanced course aligns with SAQA Unit Standard 258882 (Produce and Modify Sophisticated Spreadsheets, NQF Level 4) and extends into NQF Level 5 competencies. The comprehensive skills developed contribute significantly to workplace productivity and support organisational B-BBEE Skills Development initiatives under the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act 53 of 2003.
