The purpose of the skills programme is to prepare a learner to function as a Incident Investigator. A Incident Investigator ensures adherence to the legal requirements in terms of occupational health and safety legislation, in line with industry systems and standards to direct and support management in achieving its safety health and environmental goals and objectives.

A qualified learner will be able to:

• manage incident scenes
• coordinate emergency response
• partake/assist in incident investigations to identify and determine compliance with safety, health and environmental rules and regulations
• implement preventative measures
